    After extensive testing, we realized that photos are better than maps in large and complex facilities. We have tested with everyone from mothers carrying newborns to people that don’t use Google Maps– photos win every time.

    Not everyone wants to download your app. We offer the only wayfinding system that also allows visitors to send simple text messages to get directions without an app. Visitors can use either our app or our text messaging system to get directions.

  • Automatic wait time tracking

    We help you improve patient experience survey scores by tracking wait times for every patient. Patients can use the app or text messaging to see how much longer they have to wait. The wait time tracking and estimated wait times automatically update as patients move from waiting to intake to exam.

How It Works

Setting up Ziiio's indoor positioning system is quick and easy.

  • 1. Floor Plans

    You send us floor plans in whatever format you have and we create an indoor positioning design and wayfinding routes.

  • 2. Onsite Setup

    Our team comes onsite to set up the indoor positioning system, take photos, and test positioning. Our team will be onsite for 1-2 weeks.

  • 3. Rebrand the App

    We use your branding guidelines to create a customized version of the Ziiio app for your facility.

  • 4. Launch and Promote

    Your app is launched in the mobile app stores and we work with your marketing team to promote it using best practices.

General
  • Why are photos better for wayfinding?

    We started with traditional "blue dot" wayfinding and realized that it isn't intuitive for most people. We developed photo-based wayfinding to make it obvious where you are supposed to go. Some of our customers have piloted both blue dot and photo-based wayfinding in separate facilities and photo-based wayfinding won hands-down.

  • Who is using your system?

    Our system has been deployed in hospitals, convention centers, retail stores, office buildings, and car dealerships. We have experience deploying in locations as sensitive as a cardiac ICU and as large as a hospital campus covering 10,000,000sqft. We have multiple facilities over 1,000,000sqft.

  • What has been the feedback from patients?

    Customers that include survey feedback in our app have found that we average 4.5 stars or better. A sample patient comment: This app is awesome and we could have used it at our first appointment for sure. I was pushing her in a wheelchair and she was getting so frustrated. Younger folks especially, will like having this app because they can type in a question and get somewhere on their own."

  • How much does the text messaging wayfinding cost?

    Text messaging wayfinding is included. Telephone numbers and text messaging usage are charged at Twilio's current pricing, which is typically $50/month or less for a large facility.

Technical
  • Why is your indoor positioning so much more accurate than the competition's?

    We use deep learning to provide indoor positioning at accuracies as good or better than high-end RTLS systems (room-level or better). Other beacon-based positioning systems provide highly innaccurate results that put people on the wrong floor, room, or hallway.

  • Why is your system so much more affordable?

    Because we use deep learning for our positioning system, we don't need expensive proprietary hardware. Our software works with any standards-compliant beacon.

  • Can you do workflow and asset tracking without phones?

    Yes, our indoor positioning system can be set up to track beacons at room-level accuracy without phones. We use plug-in or PoE receivers to add real-time people and asset tracking. Staff can use badges or keychains for positioning.

  • Can customers get access to the raw positioning data and analytics?

    Yes, we can provide real-time feeds of all of our data. We have a variety of adapters so that you can store the data in anything from a SQL database to no-SQL database to Hadoop to enterprise data warehouse.

  • Does your system require running cable, connecting to the network, or complex integration?

    No, our system is completely stand-alone and does not require complex integration or expensive cabling runs. The system does not interfere with Wifi or require any specific networking equipment or changes to your network setup.

Maintenance
  • How long do the beacons last?

    We typically deploy beacons with a 5-year battery life. Around 4.5 years, we come and replace the beacons for you.

  • Who takes and updates the photos?

    We take all of the photos for you (although you are welcome to have your own staff or photographer do it). You can update any photo as easily as texting us a new photo from a staff member's phone.

  • Can we change routes when there is construction or an environmental issue?

    We can make route changes for you (or you can do it through our portal) at any time. Hepling patients navigate confusing routes during construction is one of our specialties.

  • How do you monitor accuracy and what happens if a beacon fails?

    Our machine learning monitors everything and can handle multiple beacon failures. If a beacon fails, we can come onsite to fix it or overnight a replacement.
